The developer alerts us to upgrades, usually prior to the next OSX update and it is worth your time to read about how this app works within Apple Mail. My experience over the past decade is that SpamSieve is one of those 3rd party apps that is more than worth the investment. This is an example of why I hold off on installing new versions of OS X as long as I can if what I have is working - for me OS X has not been getting better recently. I guess I'll give SpamSieve a try (I used to use Spam Assassin on a Linux server and it worked great) but I hate, if for no other reason than principal, to have to rely on, and pay for, 3rd party software for this when Mail.app spam filtering used to work. ![]() And it's now marking real messages as spam. There are identical messages from the same senders that I have marked as spam around 50-100 times each now and Mail still doesn't recognize them as spam. Is Mail's spam filtering just broken or is there some way to retrain it?Īfter resetting it and giving it a couple of weeks now, Mail.app's spam filtering is still completely useless. I dutifully mark each as spam, but seemingly to no effect since as the day goes on, spam message after spam message piles up in my inbox, often identical messages to those that I have marked as spam before. On a typical morning I log in to 50+ spam messages in my inbox and only a few in the actual spam folder. ![]() Ever since I left SL on my main iMac about a year ago Mail.app's spam filtering has been awful.
